The Comeback CAL

Update 1/3/22 – The last couple of parts to the Comeback CAL were unexpectedly postponed due to some mental health issues that needed to be address. As I ease my way back into this world, I look forward to finishing those and sharing them with you! Please check back here for those parts of the project in the future.

I’m back! 2020/2021…let’s just say it’s the last year or so has been rough. But as I’m learning to embrace motherhood, juggle postpartum depression with pandemic life, and recover from a stroke (!), I’m very happy to announce that I’m returning to my love of crochet, and I am so excited to be back!

To celebrate, I’m hosting The Comeback CAL: a week-long, spring-themed amigurumi crochet along. Details will be posted on this page real soon (probably tonight!), so be sure to check back here for more info!

The Comeback CAL begins Monday, April 19th and runs through Friday, April 23rd. Each day, we’ll be making something very cute and perfect for spring, something you can use as home decor or for your little ones! Below is a complete materials list, as well as a sneak peak at the original design concept. Note that some of the details on the design have changed since I made this concept drawing last week, but you get the general idea!

Recommended Materials

Please note that I am using LB Vanna’s Choice yarns and have listed those colors below. You may use any worsted-weight yarn of your choice. This is a great stash buster project!

  • Size D/3.25mm crochet hook (you may size up 1 size if you wish, as long as you use the same hook for the entire project)
  • Scissors
  • Yarn needle
  • Fiberfill stuffing
  • A small amount of yarn in the following colors (I estimate no more than 20 yards at most):
    • Cranberry
    • Rust
    • Terracotta
    • Mustard
    • Lemon
    • Pink
    • Beige
    • Linen
    • Kelly Green
    • Sky Blue
    • Colonial Blue
    • Black
