The Harry Potter Grapghan

Ever since we first met the Boy Who Lived back in 1997, the story of Harry Potter has touched the lives of millions of people around the world. I grew up with Harry Potter–I waited for my owl!–and I know that so many of you did, too.

To express my love for the Harry Potter series, I hosted a Harry Potter crochet along right here on the Two Hearts Crochet blog!

This CAL is made up of thirteen different squares worked in the mini C2C method featuring several beloved characters and/or objects from the series! 12 of the 13 squares consist of a 25×25 grid, while the last square consists of a 50×50 grid (this is the center square).

If you want to learn the C2C method or just want to brush up on your skills, I encourage you to sign up for my Graphghan Boot Camp course! This online course teaches you everything you need to know to make graphghans, and it includes a detailed tutorial on C2C and mini C2C.

  8. This will be my fist attempt at C2C, but it looks pretty simple! So excited for this project. But I promised myself I wouldn’t start this one until I finish the blanket I am making for my boyfriend.

  9. I just bought all my yarn today! I can’t wait! Do you have an instagram? I wrote a blog post and shared it with my followers and I’d like to be able to link them directly to you 🙂

  10. im getting to get all my yarn together and trying not to buy new if I can help it lol do you think I can substitute bernat super value in true grey for the grey heather? I was trying to compare them online but I cant really tell with the different lighting on pictures . thanks for any help you can give me!

    1. It depends on your tension, but with worsted weight yarn and a size I9/5.5mm hook, mine will be roughly 56″ across and 56″ tall (unless I add some top/bottom panels, which I might do. 🙂

  11. I don’t see a “Cranberry” RHSS anywhere in a store or online, do you have a different color suggestion?

  12. Am I the only one who can’t find the Red Heart Cranberry color? They have an accent color but it seems to be more pink online? Any other suggestions for a color?

  13. Is anyone else having a hard time finding the Red Heart Cranberry color. I see on their website they have an accent color Cranberry, but it looks really pink, is that the right color? Did anyone buy something else?

  14. I saw your measurements above for your finished afghan. Is that using DC or hdc? This is my first time and I’m not sure which stitch I should be doing.

    Thanks!

  15. You are un-freaking-believably awesome!!!!!! Thank you so much for all your work and sharing all of this with the rest of us.

  16. Thank you SO much for the Snape and Always squares. I got on here to request something Snape related, and there they already were. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. It means more to me than you could know.

  17. I saw that the pattern is made of HDC, but is it possible to make it with DC? And wat is the size of the finished blanket with HDC? I am teaching my daugther to crochet and the DC are easier for her. This seems a good project for the us, two hardcore potterheads.
And if you’re making more squares maybe Loona’s glasses, a wand, dumbledore, serius, the possebilleties.
    Love this project

    1. It can definitely be done in DC, but it will be bigger! With HDC and a size I9/5.5mm hook and worsted-weight yarn, this blanket *should* be roughly 5’x5′ (I need to take an exact measurement to be sure–that might be larger than the actual size).

  18. It s possible to send me Edwig bécasse I love owl and I would lire to créateur a coussin with Edwig and a blanket with only thé hodgard crestthanks you very much

  19. How long before the rest of the squares are released? I have a besties who is HP obsessed & would LOVE to make this for her birthday in June! !

    1. The rest of the squares will definitely be posted by the end of March! I will be releasing a new square every Friday through March, and I am currently working on releasing the alternate squares.

  20. Just finished my “Hogwarts Express” and used puff paint for the lettering. I tried embroidering it on there without much success so felt the paint worked the best.

  21. Ahhh! All of these new ones that keep popping up. So hard to decided which ones to include in my blanket! These are awesome btw, thanks!

  22. I seriously think my blanket is growing rather than changing. All these new squares are so hard to resist. Thank you for all your work creating them.

  23. Is there anyway I can get the Hegwig Graph? I see that it was done in march but I can’t get to it.

      1. Ohh That is March 2016, Haha I totally didn’t read the whole thing! I’m sorry!
