Hey, friends! It’s been a while, hasn’t it? Don’t worry. I have forgotten about you (or the awesome projects on my to-do list).
In fact, I’ve been working hard to get some patterns published to the website. I’m trying to keep myself accountable by using the many super-cool features of Trello (check it out, yo), so here’s hoping I can keep it up!
So what are these new patterns I’ve mentioned? Buckle up, my fellow musical fans – you are going to love these!
This week, I have published two different sets of patterns. They are posted as separate patterns on the blog (like Leia) instead of in PDF sets (like the Star Trek or Disney Princess dolls).
In starting to work on my mini Henry VIII doll (which I’ve been struggling with, btw), I distracted myself a couple of weeks ago by working up mini Elphaba and Glinda dolls. Aren’t they just wonderful? Wicked fans (or even Wizard of Oz fans), trust me – you’ll love these mini witches. They’re fairly quick to make up and easy, too!
After listening to the soundtrack of Wicked a dozen times or so while I made my Elphie and Glinda dolls, I got onto another musical kick: Phantom of the Opera.
I made these dolls special for my cousin, who is a big Phantom of the Opera fan. These ones were a little bit tricker to make (Christine has lots of pieces, Phantom’s mask/eye placement was interesting to work with, etc.), but they are so worth it, don’t you think?
I really hope you enjoy these patterns. They were so fun to make!
BUT WHAT ABOUT HARRY POTTER?!?!
Friends, I know. I’ve been a bad crafter and I haven’t shared the pattern for Harry yet, nor have I even really worked on any other HP amis.
I think I’ve been hesitant to share Harry’s pattern because I’m just not a fan of his hair. So I decided I’m going to give him another go this week. If he looks better with a new hair style, great! I’ll share him ASAP. If not, well, I guess we’ll have to wait and see. (I really think the new hair will do the trick, though!)
As for the rest of the HP amis, I have very few plans for my weekend, so I hope to spend several solid hours crocheting on Saturday and Sunday.
In the meantime, Henry VIII is coming along well, and I can’t wait to be finished with him. This pattern has caused me a lot of grief, but he’s turning out better than I could have hoped. I am going to raid my button collection tonight and see if I can find him a shiny medallion/jewel for his necklace!
I also plan to make all of Henry’s wives, but they’ll just have to wait a little bit!
Enjoy these Wicked & Phantom patterns, and as always, happy crafting!
