I swear, I’m overly punctual in real life. But in my blog life, I have a tendency to be, well, not so punctual.
So I’m celebrating America’s birthday one day late! I hope everyone had a wonderful Fourth of July. Personally, I got to sleep in and I made pie, which basically means I had an AWESOME holiday.
If you like berry pies, try this recipe. You’re welcome. (Tip: this recipe makes waaaay more than one pie’s worth of filling. So either make two 9″ pies, OR you can cut it down to about 4 1/2 cups of berries and make one full 10″ pie.)
Seriously, I love pie. I have some spice allergies though, so I have to make my own pies these days. If you have any good pie recipes, please send them my way!
Between my pie baking sessions yesterday (yes, I made multiple pies), I had some quality crochet time. I hit a bit of a road block with my mini Merida doll, so I started on Anna. Now they both just need hair! Woo!
In the spirit of the holiday, I also made this adorable patriot ami–and some festive tiny pom-poms, too! Isn’t she cute?
The picture’s a little dark, but that’s what you get when you’re in a rush. I’ll try to take some proper pictures tonight.
I hope to finish up my Merida and Anna dolls over the next couple of days, and then all that’ll be left of the Mini Princess Ami series will be Elsa and Moana! Exciting! I’m putting together the final touches on the patterns for Mulan, Tiana and Rapunzel, and I hope to have them available this week. (Spoiler: they’re SUPER CUTE!)
I’m trying to get as much crochet time in as I can, because I’ll be having another wisdom tooth removed next week. While that means I’ll have most of the week off from work, I doubt I’ll get much crocheting done during that time. I guess I’d better enjoy it now!
The weather here is also getting really warm, so remember to take regular water breaks while you’re crafting–and don’t forget to stretch once in a while! Take care of yourselves, crafters!
