The Firefly CAL: Wash’s Dinosaurs and Leaf on the Wind

Happy Friday, crafters!

As has been the case for a while, this week has been dreadfully long. But the weekend is finally here, and I have an ambitious goal of finishing the last three squares needed for my Firefly blanket. Only the Pretty Floral Bonnet, the Blue Sun logo, and Zoe’s gun to go!

This week’s squares turned out pretty good, if I do say so myself. I wasn’t sure I’d like how my Leaf on the Wind square was, but at the end, I fell totally in love with it! I’m still working on the border, so I don’t have individual pictures of that square. But I hope to finish the border tonight, so I’ll share pictures when it’s done!

As for Wash’s Dinosaurs square, I probably should have used either a lighter color for my stegosaurus or a darker color for the background, because it didn’t photograph too well–especially next to the bright white of the other square. But it looks pretty good in person, and it’ll look awesome when the blanket is assembled.

What do you think?

You can download the PDF graph for the Leaf on the Wind square here.

You can download the PDF graph for the Wash’s Dinosaurs square here.

Each PDF contains a graph and a legend that lists the hook size and the recommended yarn for that square. They also have arrows on them and are arranged for use with the C2C method, starting in the bottom-right corner of the graphs.

Wondering where the written instructions are? You can find more information on why they’re not here in this post.

Next week’s squares are the Blue Sun logo (which I’m going to work on during my lunch break today) and Vera. It was so hard to choose which squares I was going to make for my blanket, and it was such a close call between Vera and Zoe’s gun. The deciding factor was that I didn’t have any squares for Zoe, while I already had one for Jayne.

So may ideas, so little time….perhaps I’ll have to make TWO Firefly blankets!

Happy crafting!
