Progress Report: Mini Princess Amis

Is it Friday yet? No?

This has been a very long week for me, but a productive one. I’ve emailed all of the pattern tester applicants for this first batch of Mini Princess amis, and I’m getting ready to send out the patterns for Snow White and Cinderella.

These two princess patterns are acting as a kind of template for the future princesses: one has a non-poofy dress and the other has a poofy dress. Obviously, some details will change from princess to princess (such as hair, dress details, etc.), but now the basic patterns will be pretty much the same.

This means that moving forward should be a quick and easy process! The only one I’m expecting to be a little difficult will be Ariel, but I’ve got a few ideas about how to make her fins and still keep her in the styling of our mini ami family.

In the meantime, how about a sneak peek?

I am totally and absolutely in love with both of these dolls! I particularly like the way Cinderella’s headband and necklace turned out. I was going to use black yarn, but I couldn’t find my black yarn (darn it!), so I picked up my crochet thread on a whim. It turned so delicate and adorable, don’t you think?

I’m working on Aurora right now, and I am going to make her in blue (since I made her in pink the last time).

At this time, I think I’ll only be making Ariel with fins–not without. But I think I’ll make her without fins after we’ve finished all the others.

I am also open to the idea of making mini princes in the future! I mean, how cute would a tiny little Prince Charming be? <3 <3

I fell in love with crochet in college, and since then I've made hats, scarves, afghans, stuffed animals, Christmas ornaments and so much more! I also recently taught myself how to knit, and now I have twice as many reasons to buy more yarn! "She who dies with the most yarn wins!"
