The Whovian CAL is one square, two border pieces and a lot of end-weaving and joining away from being complete. It’s hard to believe that this CAL started just over a month ago! We’re not quite done yet, but the end is in sight–we’re all that much closer to having an amazing Whovian blanket to cuddle up with!
So what’s next, you ask?
My immediate projects include a really neat amigurumi Dalek whose casing opens up (currently in-progress and nearing completion), as well as a TARDIS and a Tenth Doctor doll, all scaled to the appropriate size so that they go together.
The Dalek pattern is currently in the works (still working on the shaping of the casing), and I’m planning to release the pattern here on the blog in both a post format AND as PDF. The Dalek will be the very first Two Hearts Crochet amigurumi pattern in PDF form! I will also release the Doctor and the TARDIS patterns in the same formats when they are complete (I’m not expecting either of them to take that long).
After these Whovian projects are complete, I am planning on switching gears a little bit. I will be releasing patterns (hopefully weekly or every other week) for an amigurumi Nativity set which will include all the primary cast of the Nativity scene: Mary, Joseph, Baby Jesus (and a manger), angel(s), the Three Wise Men and a shepherd. I will also try to include patterns for sheep, donkeys and camels, but I’m not as good with amigurumi animals as I am with people, so we’ll see how it goes.
As we enter into 2016, I will also be hosting a Harry Potter-themed C2C crochet along! I have been working on the graphs and I can’t wait to get started! This CAL will most likely be worked in squares of 25 blocks x 25 blocks, and each block will be worked in the half double crochet stitch instead of the double crochet stitch. This will allow us to make a slightly smaller graphghan than the Whovian CAL, which also gives us the opportunity to make even more squares to go with it–and there are so many good options to choose from in the Harry Potter universe!
So if you’re looking for some fun projects, stick around! It’s going to be a fun few months here at Two Hearts Crochet! <3 <3
